MIQ to raise profile in UK

Nickelodeon, the kids’ TV network, is expanding its physical presence in an effort to rival Disney, with the launch of its first European retail store (operated by Entertainment Retailer Limited) in London’s Leicester Square this summer.

Starting in 1993, the same year that Nickelodeon started transmitting in the UK, Crew Clothing has long outgrown its Devon roots, selling its popular British designs in 76 stores and six outlets across the UK.

In addition to sharing the same start date, Nickelodeon and Crew Clothing have announced the appointment of MIQ Logistics, to support their global supply chains, including in the case of Nickelodeon, replenishment of their flagship West End store and fulfilment of European on-line purchases.

MIQ’s UK team have been quietly building an impressive retail supply chain capability and client list, including Gant, Phase 8 and Duchess of Cambridge favourite, Seraphine.

Crew Clothing Company, who signed their contract with MIQ this month, started their selection process with a list of 12 of the largest forwarders. The MIQ team was compelling from the first meeting. As a member of the Crew Clothing Company selection panel said: “MIQ got Crew straight away. They had anticipated all our questions and had the answers we were looking for. They understood the need for collaboration. They just got us.”

Managing director of MIQ Logistics (UK) Andy Martin: “The successful launch of the Nickelodeon store and its continuous replenishment is testament to the skill of my retail teams. The Crew Clothing appointment is particularly notable as MIQ were unknown when we entered the process.”

“We have a great supply chain team, unrivalled visibility tools and a compelling story to tell, which is why we are pleased to be working with Paul Kelly, the man behind the Allport brand and founder of Actualis Marketing, to raise our profile and ensure that every retailer and brand, that we could work for knows about MIQ and the value we could add to their supply chains.”

“The announcement of our short-listing for two 2015 Retail Week Supply Chain Awards is a great start.”
